The era is lighter, massive amounts of people are awakening to their truths. The illusion of happiness, before, tied to materialism is now becoming obsolete. Does it mean that you should drop everything and smile no matter what? No, don’t quit your job yet. Nevertheless, happiness isn’t what you think about it. It has no conditions and can be achieved anywhere — anytime. And now, it’s your turn to learn how.

How to be happy

The most asked question

When you throw the towel and get sick of the dark places your soul made you explore, you promise yourself salvation: it’s a new beginning and nothing will stop you from getting there.

You put every single second into your new dream of finding happiness, you squeeze yourself from your last drops of energy until you can’t put any more efforts into finding it. Nothing will stop you.

Books, blogs — every piece of content you come across all explain happiness in different ways and possess each a unique approach to it. You try it all but it doesn’t seem to work after some moments: you always feel that sensation of being untruthful to yourself, something doesn’t click. And you just keep asking:

How to be happy?

You’re doing something wrong

We come to ask ourselves about how to be happy when we lived something “unhappy”, it’s a sort of escape to know that you can always be happy even if the love of your life cheated on you, even if your most loved one died, even if after all your decades of service, the company still throws you out like trash, even if none of your efforts were appreciated — ultimately letting you only with tears.

Happiness is the end goal, and yes you can be happy anytime, anywhere, but first, you must learn detachment. Pursuing something desperately isn’t going to make you happy, I spoke in more depth about it here. The reason for this is when you desperately run after something, it signals to your subconscious that you need it for you to live, and without it you feel a void, thus unhappy.

Illumination — Happiness as a constant state of being

Clean up the mess

Instead of searching: how to be happy? Ask yourself why you’re unhappy in the first place. It might be about something that didn’t go the way you wanted it to. A past event, or a future you’re uncertain about, in both cases it sucks and you don’t like being in this stressful place.

The real problem here is yourself, sorry but it’s the case. The world doesn’t exist depending on you — but you do. That is not meant to hurt you but more to explain you the following:

The Nature of the world doesn’t depend on your perceptions about it

Easier again, what you most often think to be real is unreal, just an illusion, created by your mind, modeled and constructed by your daily thoughts, beliefs and words, thus affecting your behaviors, and thus creating your current environment.

So first, acknowledge this and take some real time to look within yourself, spend time alone and learn more about the real meaning of your unhappiness.

The world as whole

Second, you must acknowledge something else: the discovery of something bigger than you.

Unhappiness comes also from too much individuality — thinking that we’re alone, one against the world, unique, separate from everything else. That’s why most people think that the world evolve only around them — narcissism is an example.

This is not the best approach, it might feed the ego but in the long term game, it won’t pay. The world is bigger than you really think it is, it is also more whole and connected than you can imagine: powerless animals are being fed in nature without your awareness, rain brings back to life death lands, sick people are healing without any medical assistance and so forth.

Again, the world doesn’t live off your preconceptions, it’s not depending on whether you believe in something or not:

The world is whole and connected, it’s independent and subsists without needing human judgement.

If you approach the world with a presence, and look at it for what it really is, then it suddenly opens itself to you and brings you higher wisdom.

Reclaiming your power

Does it all mean that you should then sit down, close your eyes and imagine that everything’s pink/perfect? No. It’s not. There’s no light without darkness. Same for the opposite.

One thing people get confused about when it comes to accessing higher states of consciousness is imagining that everything is. There’s no feelings behind it and without feelings nothing will happen.

How do you get these feelings therefore?

By reclaiming your power.

Everything programmed you to think that you were a powerless being, needing people’s attention to survive, drugs to cure yourself and a ton of food to survive. You lost your power that way, it became your default mode to think that anything that could help you is out of yourself when in truth, it’s within.

Reclaiming your power means to exert power on your life. You have strength in yourself, your body is more capable of healing you than any other medicines you could take, it’s called the placebo effect. Your creativity helps you conquer your fear, expressing yourself by your favorite medium (dance, writing, music, painting, sports) increases your vibrations and so on.

You’re more than what you allow yourself to be. Apply these simple things from your heart and trust in the change, look within and never pursue something you’re not heartily involved in. I hope you to find true happiness with this introduction to an unlimited ocean of possibilities. In the future, we might go more in depth.
