Offended generation

A weak society makes its people weaker.

You’re hurt? You couldn’t sleep because of what I said? Really? And what have I said?

In this increasingly offended society we live in, it has become almost impossible to speak a word without “hurting” someone, especially for those with a strong character — what does strong character mean? That you’ve experienced some tough shit and still managed to live.

Since when have we become so soft?

“Divide and conquer.”

Do you know this? Of course you do, what don’t we know nowadays? That’s the problem — we know so much but practice so little. And so here we are, intellectually amused by our mental garbage, fooling ourselves by believing knowledge equals experience.

The reason behind “divide and conquer” is simple: don’t believe it’s all about dividing and conquering others like countries or people — you do it more than any politician or whatever else — the difference between you and them is that YOU do it with yourself.

By picking and choosing stuff you resonate with, you fulfill an unconscious survival mechanism which is called a sense of identity — it’s a recollection of all those things you chose to believe would add something to your sense of self. And so the more you do it, the more fractured you are because hey, let’s get real, you’re just a bunch of what the world has to offer.

The more you keep on adding stuff to your identity, stuff like Real Madrid, Lamborghini, Instagram, Hulk Hogan, Mac, Nike and so on — the more divided you become — you are too “loose” and because your sense of self depends on so many external stuff, you are literally conquered. (Pssst — aka, triggered and offended by all kinds of absurdities!)

Anything that goes against anything you identify with at one level or the other becomes a “personal” offense to you because that’s what you are, right? A freaking PERSON.

And so the more stuff society produces, which is excessive today with all the information, products, groups, lifestyles and God knows what else — the more fragmented we become because we must prefer Mac over PC or the PS5 over the Xbox otherwise we wouldn’t be “normal”. Yup, yup. Good Lord.

One thing we forget in this crazy ride is that society was built for the individual and not the other way around. It’s great to see how much human beings are evolving and maybe making life better. It’s wonderful to see the diversity in the human potential. But, it would also be good to understand that who you are is not just a bunch of stuff, a fictional unconscious character — but rather a limitless being.

Identifying with external stuff equals defining yourself which finally equals denying how unlimited you could be. Keep that in mind. You can be whatever you want to be — just make sure you really want to be that person and not some naïve, influenced & hypnotized punk.
