Rabih is Thinking
I am a bit disgusted.
I’m not sure if it’s the best way to start a piece. It does, however, align with my value of being real with you.
I don’t have notifications on my phone. Except for communication and banking, the rest is turned off. At times, however, I do see on my friends’ phones as an example, the kinds of notifications they get.
“Don’t miss out.” “XYZ just posted this.” “95% OFF NOW.”
And so on.
Everything wants you to spend more time with it. And almost everything is made for you to do so. What about your eyes’ health? Your presence and connection to your surroundings? Don’t look for wellbeing in the wrong place.
Heck, the other day an ad popped up while I was using Duo Lingo, and the person was wearing a white coat, but there was no name or credential. It was simply a random person wearing a white coat.
Was she a doctor? Nothing proved it. But wearing that white coat made her look like one, and because it did, we certainly paid a little more attention to what she had to say. It must be important.
In the past, I’d read books on marketing, go through courses, and so on.
